Development Status #32 – May Summary

Dear Mechanics!

Welcome to our thirty second Development Status update.
It’s time for our monthly summary, so let’s get straight to business.

Art Progress:

Day and night cycle on extraction missions

video

Code Progress:

During this month we have:

  • added the manual, in game and as pdf
  • finalized lot of stuff for the demo build
  • not had any private life.

During this week we have:

  • tested the demo
  • build the demo
  • set up the demo on Steam

The demo is getting reviewed by Steam. When the result is positive, we’re going to start contacting with lucky users. The Steam documentation states, that this review process might take from 3 to 5 work days, so it might take the whole next week :/

Additional post and Steam notification will be added when we’re ready to send the keys. Be ready 😉

That would be all for this week and month. If you have any suggestions, ideas or questions, write to us at contact@degenerals.com or visit our Discord server (https://discord.gg/HPbJj9y).

Have a good weekend and see you next week!

Code Progress:

The manual is done. We’re adding illustrations and we’re trying to add additional features to the game before sending the keys out. They should be sent this week, if everything goes ok (with the build testing).

What we want to add during this week:

  • basic game options (video, audio etc.) – without language selection for now, only english (although we want to translate the manual for the demo)
  • polish anything we can and test the hell out of the build

That would be all for this week. If you have any suggestions, ideas or questions, write to us at contact@degenerals.com or visit our Discord server (https://discord.gg/HPbJj9y).

Have a good weekend and see you next week!

Development Status #30

Dear Mechanics!

Welcome to our thirtieth Development Status update.
Let’s get straight to business.

Art Progress:

This weekend we were working on getting different materials for tank renovation. Straight from beging extracted in Mud to initial cleaning from mud to Rust. Then quick rust and Dirt removal process. Next step is Sanding. After that tank surface need some Primer coat cover to prevent from being rusty again. After that Tank need final touch which is Paint.

Tank renovation process. Different tank stages.

Sherman M4A3 Work in Progress.

Code Progress:

We’ve finalized the tank element material/texture handling. As You can see on the gif above, the tank can have different material states – from mud to paint (through rust, sanding etc.).

Also we’re working on making the offroad vehicle as playable as we can, so driving with it has the authentic feel.

Other than that, the manual is ready. We’re adding illustrations for it and we need to translate it. Also we want to record some gameplay material to support the manual, and add the gameplay videos to the game.

That would be all for this week. If you have any suggestions, ideas or questions, write to us at contact@degenerals.com or visit our Discord server (https://discord.gg/HPbJj9y).

Have a good weekend and see you next week!

Development Status #29 – April Summary

Dear Mechanics!

Welcome to our twenty-ninth Development Status update.
It’s time for our monthly summary update, so let’s get straight to business.

Week Progress:

We’ve made break during this week, took small holidays. 1st and 3rd May are holidays in Poland, so we took the occasion and made the whole week free. To load up the batteries 🙂

Month Progress:

We’ve been finalizing the basic gameplay features in April. Player can now:

  • create his profile
  • accept or decline contracts
  • start and finish extraction missions
  • finish tank repairs
  • use basic tools and vehicles

Everything above is doable now, but not yet in a state to show. What is needed then?

  • finished manual, accesible in-game
  • markings “To be developed/added” where it’s needed
  • sounds and music
  • bug fixing – this is a continuous task, still it’s valid to add it here

Other than that, we’re getting in contact with real world tank restorers (blinks at Association Univem – Paris 😉 )! We’ll give You more info when some more official decisions are made.

Demo:

To answer all questions popping up about the demo:

When?

  • At least one week before Kickstarter
  • Kickstarter campaign might begin in May or July (this will be clarified in few days, as our publisher has the final word in this decision)

Who will get it?

  • We will pick most active community members from our TMS Community Discord server
  • All other also have chance to get it (Discord and E-mails) We will send the keys randomly

What demo will contain?

  • Single extraction mission
  • One tank only – Tiger I
  • One extraction vehicle
  • One extaction tool

That would be all for this week and month. If you have any suggestions, ideas or questions, write to us at contact@degenerals.com or visit our Discord server (https://discord.gg/HPbJj9y).

Have a good weekend and see you next week!
