Development Status #61 – Merry Christmas :)

Dear Mechanics!

Welcome to our sixty-first Development Status update.

Congrats to all demo-key receivers 🙂 If you want to participate in the testing, send a mail to contact@degenerals.com (although expect an answer after Christmas, as we also celebrate).

For all testers: have fun with the game! If you want to share your opinion, found a bug (or two ;)), give a suggestion or feedback, please do so here: Redmine Task Manager (our internal testing tool) or here: Tank Mechanic Simulator Discord server

We’re going to take few days off to celebrate Christmas and load up the batteries for January.

Again, have fun and merry Christmas to you all!

That would be all for this week. If you have any suggestions, ideas or questions, write to us at contact@degenerals.com or visit our Discord server (https://discord.gg/HPbJj9y).

Have a merry Christmas and see you next week!

Dear Mechanics!

Welcome to our sixtieth Development Status update.
Let’s get straight to business.

Code Progress:

We’ve sent a build to our publishers tester team – while waiting for their feedback in next week our plan is to:

  • rework tutorials (add missing stuff, modify existing)
  • finalize game strings (check all game and set up all missing localization keys)
  • add a way to use the tank view-finders/viewers (now the player has no physical way to see from few tanks interiors)

Expect a new demo version to be uploaded to Steam next week if You already own it. If not, You might be selected to recieve such demo if you are on our discord server or you’ve send a mail to contact@degenerals.com 😉

That would be all for this week. If you have any suggestions, ideas or questions, write to us at contact@degenerals.com or visit our Discord server (https://discord.gg/HPbJj9y).

Have a good weekend and see you next week!

Code Progress:

Our plan was to fix bugs that pop up after our internal tests. There are simply too many issues and bugs that need to be taken care of before we can call the demo to be “good enough” for our community to try out.

Finished tasks:

  • crafting system (yet without proper economy design, just the logic and UI – we need to configure all tanks and their elements with this system)
  • test drive tanks paint room configuration

To do tasks:

  • create test drive tank model for T34/85
  • further optimise the game (the RAM consumption is too big, we need to fix this ASAP before the build can be sent)
  • add extended element configuration (make the same type of element – f.e. tank wheels – switchable between one another and between tanks that have the same type of the element – for instance, T34, KV-1 and KV-2 share some similar elements that the player should be able to switch between)

About the demo:

The main application and the demo are going to be frequently fixed and uploaded until the game release on 29.01.2019. After that the demo won’t receive content updates, just bug fixes (if applicable)

That would be all for this week. If you have any suggestions, ideas or questions, write to us at contact@degenerals.com or visit our Discord server (https://discord.gg/HPbJj9y).

Have a good weekend and see you next week!

Development Status #58 November Summary

Dear Mechanics!

Welcome to our fifty-eighth Development Status update – the November Summary.
Let’s get straight to business.

Art Progress:

The T-34/85 interior development.

Code Progress:

November was the last month before the release when we add new coding stuff – from now on we:

  • fix bugs
  • get a build ready
  • send it to test
  • while waiting for the test feedback, implement suggestions and optimize
  • get feedback
  • fix bugs etc.

What is yet to add before the release:

  • crafting system (prototype)
  • steam achievements, cards etc.
  • localization
  • steam workshop integration

What is to add after the premiere:

  • tank modules exchange (for instance, change the engine instead of repairing it, or switch turret of T-34/76 to 85 version)
  • test drive shooting mechanics (probably)
  • any feedback or suggestion that can be implemented

That would be all for this week and month. If you have any suggestions, ideas or questions, write to us at contact@degenerals.com or visit our Discord server (https://discord.gg/HPbJj9y).

Have a good weekend and see you next week!
